Lucy Crump  is an artist who lives and works in London.

She creates images of alternate realities and hellscapes. Many of Lucy’s works capture untamed and savage expressions of bodily subjects. Through painting, her art serves as a counterbalance to her own experiences and often merges into a social commentary.

Much like her paintings, her documentary style video work is a social commentary and a gaze into the intricacies of human connection. Her video pieces are commonly paired with either natural or vocal soundtracks, such as “Screen Stories: N15” which is a video portrait series observing the art of story telling. Lucy prefers to use low-fi video cameras such as Super8 and VHS to capture an aesthetic of intimacy.

Through both her paintings and video art, she invites the viewer to contemplate the interplay between reality, fears and imagination.
